On Tuesday Continental traveled to Wayne Trace and saw an even battle from the 3 point line but the rest of the scoreboard leaned over to the Raiders as they took this Boys nonleague game. The game started the Raiders way as they doubled up on the Pirates in the first quarter 22-11. The second quarter had both teams slow down the scoring pace, but it was again the Raiders upping their edge over the Pirates by 5, 35-19 at half. The Pirates came out in the second half and reduced the deficit by 4 as the score was 46-34 heading into the final quarter. The last quarter went the Raider way for a 65-43 final.
Continental was led by Chris Potts with 14 points. Caleb Olds had 12, Mitchell Coleman 9, Christian Keller 6 and Nick States. Both the Pirates and Raiders hit nine 3 pointers; for the Pirates Potts made 4, Coleman 3 and Olds 2.
Continental falls to 1-15 and will travel to Columbus Grove on Saturday for a Putnam County League game. Wayne Trace improves to 13-3. The Raiders won the Junior Varisty game 34-14 (which was played in the Middle School Gym). The Varisty game was played in the High School Gym as the Raiders balanced two varsity games (boys and girls) in one night.
This game was rebroadcast on WOSN TV 44 on Wednesday night at 8 pm.
