
Tuesday night host Continental had trouble matching Wayne Trace scoring runs in Girls Basketball non league action. The Raiders opened up the game with the first 6 point but the Pirates responded with a 7 point run as Mckenzie Shock made a basket and a 3 and Olivia Crossgrove added a basket. Pirates 7-6. A basket and a 3 point play put the Raiders up 11-6. The Pirates made it a 3 point game when Kamryn Searfoss sank a basket. Raiders 11-8. The Raiders would score the last 6 points of the quarter. Raiders 17-9 after 1. The Raiders continued their run by putting in the first 6 points of the second quarter. Raiders 23-9. The Pirates would outscore the Raiders 5-4 for the rest of the half with Searfoss making a pair of free throws and Mckenzie Shock draining a 3. Raiders 27-14 at half. The Raiders put in the first 7 points of the second half to take a 34-14 lead. The two teams would finish off the third with 4 points each with the Pirates Searfoss picking up a free throw and a 3. Raiders 38-18 after 3. Crossgrove opened up the 4th with a pair of free throws. Raiders 38-20. 5 points by the Raiders was followed by a Morgan Shock basket. Raiders 43-22. A 7 point Raider run was bettered by a Pirate 8 point run with Searfoss hitting a 3 and a pair of free throws and Kinley Stegbauer also making a 3. Raiders 50-30. A basket by the Raiders closed out the scoring. Raiders 52-30 final
Kamryn Searfoss led the Pirates with 13 points. Mckenzie Shock added 8. Olivia Crossgrove put in 4. Kinley Stegbauer scored 3. Morgan Shock scored 2. The Pirates made five 3 pointers with Searfoss and Mckenzie Shock both making 2 and Kinley Stegbauer 1. The Raiders made three 3 pointers. The Pirates were 7-10 from the line while the Raiders were 13-13.
Continental falls to 7-13 and will travel to Montpelier on Saturday as the first game of a Pirate/Locomotive doubleheader. Wayne Trace improves to 15-4.
