On Friday night, host Continental High took a lead into the final inning only to see Tinora rally to take the win. The Pirates and Rams both ended the game with the same amount of hits but all 6 of the Rams hits were extra bases while all the Pirates hits were singles. A great start by the Pirates saw them leading 3-1 after 1 and 4-1 after 2 but that would be the last run the Pirates would score. The Rams would make it a 1 run game 4-3 by scoring single runs in the fourth and fifth. The Rams would plate 5 in the seventh to take the 8-4 win.
Ava Homier led the Pirate offense with a pair of hits and a run scored. Kenzie Searfoss had a hit and earned a walk, scored 2 runs, and stole a base. Mallorie Barnhart had a hit, scored a run and drove in a run. Maeci Dockery has a hit and drove in a run. Kimberly Grant had a hit. Gracie Homier drove in a run with a sacrifice.
Gracie Homier took the loss on the mound for the Pirates going 7 inning, giving up 8 runs (6 earned), on 6 hits, 6 walks and 14 strikeouts. The Pirates and Rams both made errors. The Rams stole 10 bases to the Pirates 1.
Continental falls to 2-3 and will host Lima Central Catholic on Monday. Tinora improves to 3-1.
