Juniors Monty Rayle and Quinn Tegenkamp were named to the 2024-25 Putnam County League Honorable Mention Roll. Rayle was the Pirates leading scorer putting in 281 points for the Pirates, good for a 12.2 ppg average. Tegenkamp was the Pirates second leading scorer with 188 points, good for a 8.2 ppg average.
A tight PCL title race led to 5 schools making up the PCL first team. Kalida won the PCL with a 6-1 record but 5 teams had a chance to claim a portion heading into the last weekend with Fort Jennings, Ottoville, Miller City and Columbus Grove still in the running. Fort Jennings’ Jarron Swick was named PCL player of the year leading the the Musketeers to a second place finish tied with Ottoville and Columbus grove with 5-2 records. Fort Jennings is the lone PCL team to advance out of District and will be playing in the Elida/BGSU DVII Regional. Joining Swick on the PCL first team are Columbus Grove’s Bubba Smith, Leipsic’s Jayce Brandt, Miller City’s Brendan Barlage, and Ottoville’s Landon Horstman.
Ryan Stetchschulte of PCL Champs Kalida was named PCL Coach of the Year.
