On Thursday Continental traveled down to Marion Local for OHSAA Division IV Volleyball Northwest District 5 Sectional Final. The Redskins came into the game seed #2 in the District Tournament and were ranked #7 in the final OSVCA Division IV State Poll. The Pirates were the #10 seed.
The Redskins came out to play as they took the first game 25-11. The second game went Marion Local’s way with a 25-10 tally. A close third game also went to the Redskins 25-21 for a 3-0 Marion Local sweep.
Senior Catelyn Etter led the Pirates with 17 assists while Senior Tygre Troyer had 13 kills and 9 digs. Senior Madelyn Potts had 10 digs and 6 kills for the Pirates.
Continental finishes the season at 5-18. Marion Local improves to 19-4 and will travel to Fort Recovery on Tuesday to take on St. Henry in the Northwest District 5 District Semifinal.
Congratulations to Coach Schmidt and the team on a hard fought season. Good luck in their future endeavors and thanks for the memories to Seniors Catelyn Etter, Madelyn Potts, and Tygre Troyer.
