The weather Thursday night was cold and nasty when Continental traveled to Pandora Gilboa for a Putnam County League Boys Basketball game. Both teams offense matched the weather in the first quarter as only 10 points were scored with the Rockets taking the early advantage 7-3. The two teams offenses picked up the scoring pace the rest of the game with the Rockets taking the second quarter 15-9 for a 22-12 lead at half. The two teams almost matched the first half point total in the third quarter as the Rockets put in 18 and the Pirates 14. Rockets 40-26 after 3. The Pirates would win the fourth quarter but it was the Rockets who took the game. Rockets 48-36 final.
Konnor Knipp Williams led the Pirates and was the game’s leading scorer with 17 points. Gavin Huff put in 5, Alex Sharitts 4, Andrew Hoeffel, Carson Etter, Jonathon Etter all had 3, Rhenn Armey 1 point. The Pirates hit four 3 pointers (Huff, Hoeffel, C Etter, and J Etter 1 each) while the Rockets put in 5.
