
Ryker Winkle was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Monday, driving in four on two hits to lead Continental Elementary Pirates past Columbus Grove Grey 17-2 on Monday. Ryker drove in runs on a single in the second, a walk in the third, and a double in the fourth.
Continental Elementary Pirates secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught came from walks by Brantley Pitney, Brandt Jones, and Ryker Winkle, singles by Weston Dockery, Dane Heitzman, and Braxton Pitney, a groundout by Remington Wollam, and a double by Bradley Boecker.
Braxton Pitney earned the victory on the mound for Continental. The pitcher surrendered two runs on two hits over two innings, striking out two. Jones threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
The Elementary Pirates collected 14 hits. Heitzman, Winkle, Dockery, Ashton Donaldson, Boecker, and Braxton Pitney each racked up multiple hits. Heitzman went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Continental Elementary Pirates in hits.
