Girls Soccer
The Girls took the long bus ride to Northwood for a non-conference matchup with the Rangers. Northwood is on the south east side of Toledo. The Pirates made the trip worth the effort as they came home with a 3-2 victory. Paige Lawhorn hit the back of the net for a pair of goals while Amelia Weller added the third. Weller and Blair Tegenkamp assisted on the goals. The Pirates are now 3-6 and next take the pitch on Saturday at Miller City in a PCL matchup.
Boys Soccer
The Pirates hosted the Riverdale Falcons in a non league matchup on Saturday. In a game that saw some wind and rain it was the goalies that had the final say as the teams finished with a 0-0 tie. Riverdale managed 13 shots on goal compared to the Pirates 3 but none of the 16 shots hit the back of the net. Trevor Williamson had the shutout for the Pirates in goal. The Pirates are now 3-3-2 and will host Kalida in a PCL matchup on Friday night.
Volleyball
The VolleyPirates travelled to West Unity to take on the Hilltop Cadets and Montpelier Locomotive. Against the Cadets the Pirates took the first game 21-25 but lost the other two games 25-16 and 25-18. No report was filed on the match against Montpelier other than the Pirates lost. The Pirates now stand at 2-10. They host Perry on Monday night in a nonleague battle.
