Saturday’s Pirate Results

Bulldogs Take Volley Pirates in 4 Sets –
On Saturday Continental High School Volleyball team traveled to Columbus Grove to take on the Bulldogs in a Putnam County League match. In a tight match that saw the loser in each game score at least 20, had the Bulldogs open up with a 25-20 win in game one. The Pirates went the extra distance to take a 26-24 win in game two. The next game had the Bulldogs win by the same 26-24 score. Columbus Grove took game four and the match 25-21.

Leah Baker had 14 kills while Amber Logan had 14 and Breanne Eickholt had 7. Hannah Troyer and Amber Logan both had a pair of aces. Hannah Troyer had 12 digs while Sydney Eickholt had 11. Jessica Stauffer had 33 assists.

The Pirates are now 9-9 (0-4 PCL) an will travel to Antwerp on Monday. Columbus Grove is currently co-leader of the Northwest Conference and is now 11-4 (2-2 in PCL).

Make sure you put Friday night’s VolleyPirates game on your schedule as they travel to Miller City for another PCL match. It is also Block Out Cancer. You can support the Blue and Gold and support the cause.

Pirate Boys Take Rangers 7-1 in Soccer Match –
On Saturday Continental High School Boys Soccer Team traveled to New Knoxville for a non-league match which had Pirates prevail 7-1. Christ Potts lead the Pirates with a hat trick while Christian Perez, Jacob Williams, Konnor Okuley, and Trevor Williamson each added single goals. Tyler Brecht had a pair of assists while Christian Perez had one.

The Pirates move to 9-1-2 and host OSSCA Division III #5 ranked Archbold Blue Streaks on Tuesday in a non-league match. New Knoxville falls to 2-9-1.
