Volley Pirates 3, Delphos Jefferson 2
A thrilling comeback was the story on Saturday as Continental took on Delphos Jefferson in non league volleyball. The visiting Pirates took t he first game 25-21 only to have the Wildcats tie the match in game 2 25-12. The Wildcats continued gained the match advantage by a hard fought game 3 28-26. The Pirates were not to be denied on Fall fest weekend as they took game 4 25-20 and ended the match with a win in game 5 15-7. Pirates 3=2 final.
Teaghan McDougle had 51 assists, 23 digs, 4 aces and 3 blocks. Delaney Bowers had 25 kills, 30 digs, and 7 aces. Lauren Williams 10 kills, 22 digs and 4 blocks. Rheagen Marshall 15 kills, 13 digs and 5 assists. Macie Cordes 10 kills. Continental improves to 4-11. Delphos Jefferson is now 4-9.
Lady Pirates Soccer 0, Miller City 0
Miller City donning lime green uniforms were unable to take advantage of a big shot advantage in a battle against host Continental wearing light blue. Miller City had 19 shots on the goal compared to the Pirates 7 but neither team hit the back of the net for the 0-0 tie.
Marissa Becher made 13 saves in the shutout effort. Miller City had 19 shot Continental’s 7. The Wildcats had a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.
The two teams went to alternate uniforms to help raise money to defeat cancer in the Kickin Cancer game. Great job both teams.
