A tied game heading into the final inning went to the Leipsic Vikings when they took on host Continental in Putnam County League Softball action Tuesday afternoon. Both teams came out ready to play and put 4 runs on the board in the first. The Vikings would add one in the second to take a 5-4 lead heading into the Pirates. The Pirates would plate a run in the third to make it 5-5. The Vikings would score 4 runs to take a 9-5 lead heading into the bottom of the fourth. That lead held till the Pirates put up 3 runs in the fifth Vikings 9, Pirates 8. The Pirates would even the score in the bottom of the sixth 9 all. The Vikings would score the only runs in the last inning and took home the 13-9 decision.
Tygre Troyer took the loss for the Pirates. The Pirates outhit the Vikings 12-10 with Maddie Burke leading the Pirates with a double and 2 singles. Kerri Prowant had a home run, single and 4 RBIs, Catelyn Etter and Macy Collier had a pair of singles for the Pirates.
Continental falls to 1-5 (0-1 PCL) and will travel to Riverdale on Friday. Leipsic improves to 2-4 (1-1 PCL).
