“Team Tina” Plans Benefit – October 10th

September 12, 2015 by Karen Donaldson

Tina Marie Herr is a beautiful strong woman, and a loving mother of four and grandmother of six. In November of 2010 Tina was diagnosed with breast cancer. After undergoing a mastectomy and lumpectomy, Tina had to start chemotherapy and was on both chemotherapy and radiation for several months. When the chemotherapy began to weaken and make her ill, Tina was unable to keep working and had to take a medical leave of absence.

After months of treatments, Tina was finally in remission and remained there for over four years. At a check-up in November of 2014, the doctors delivered the devastating news that the cancer had returned. Only this time it was now in the spine and pelvis. After discussions with her doctors over treatment, Tina decided it would be best to go with injections. After weeks of injections, doctor’s recommended a more aggressive treatment, including chemotherapy again. Tina continues to do chemotherapy once a week, and will do so for the remainder of her life.

On October 10th, 2015, we as family and friends are rallying together to support this beautiful woman in her fight. Please join us at the Continental American Legion, 109 South Fifth Street, Continental, Ohio from 4-10PM. There will be a free will donation meal and bake sale, 50/50 raffle, silent auction and small live auction, as well as door prizes. The kids will also be entertained with face painting!
Help Tina continue her fight!

(Tina Britsch Herr is a 1980 graduate of CHS. Check out “Team Tina” on Facebook or Tina’s “Fight Like a Girl” page on gofundme.com)
