The much anticipated construction of a new bridge for Defiance’s Clinton Street will begin on Monday, February 25, 2019. There have been several delays for the project due to cold weather and ice but the time has finally come. A contest was held for for the last vehicle to drive over the bridge and that will happen at 9am on Monday morning. The current bridge will be completely removed and a new one built, a process that will close traffic across the river for 9 months. Plan accordingly for travel to Defiance as traffic will be routed around the city.
