
Both teams found the baskets as cold as the weather on Thursday night at the Cove as Continental High hosted Tinora in a Girls Basketball nonleague action. Only 4 field goals were made in the fist quarter all by the Rams. Tinora started the game off by making a free throw and 2 baskets to take a 5-0 lead. Olivia Crossgrove hit a pair of free throws to put the Pirates on the board, Rams 5-2. A Ram free throw was followed up by Pirate Kenzie Searfoss draining a pair of free throws to make it a 2 point game Rams 6-4. The Rams would hit a 3 and basket to leave them at 11 while the Pirates would get a free throw from Morgan Shock. Rams 11-5 after 1. The Rams heated up in the second quarters as they put in a pair of 3s, a basket and an a pair of free throws to to take a 21-5 lead. An Ashlyn Dudgeon free throw would stop the Ram run. And a pair of made free throw increased the Ram lead to 26-6. Ava Sheeter would make a basket for the Pirates to make it 26-8 Rams. A Ram basket and free throw would close out halves scoring. Rams 29-8 at half. The Pirates opened up the second half scoring with a Crossgrove basket to make it 29-10. The Rams put in 14 of the next 18 points to finish off the third with a 43-14 lead. Crossgrove and Sheeter both hit baskets for the Pirates. The fourth quarter was all Rams as they put in 12 to the Pirates 6. The Pirates got a 3 point play from Crossgrove, a free throw from Cassie Pier and a 2-2 from the line by Macie Clemens. Rams 55-20 final.
Olivia Crossgrove led the Pirates with 9 points. Ava Sheeter contributed 4. Kenzie Searfoss and Macie Clemens 2 each. Ashlyn Dudgeon, Morgan Shock, and Cassie Pier all had 1 point. The Rams made seven 3 pointers and 8-24 were from the line. The Pirates were 10-17 from the line.
Continental falls to 0-5 and will travel to Arcadia on Saturday Tinora improves to 1-3.
