
Continental continued the defense of their Putnam County League title on Thursday at Fort Jennings with a 4-0 win. Going into the game it looked like Continental had a big advantage going in with a 6-0 record while Fort Jennings stood at 1-2. Both of the Musketeers losses had come to other PCL teams. It was all Pirates as Hunter Varner and Jackson Bidlack both scored twice. Varner opened up the scoring with a goal just over 10 minutes into the game. Bidlack put the Pirates up 2-0 hitting the back of the net off a Varner pass with 19:16 left in the half. Pirates 2-0 half. It took Varner 12 minutes into the second half to make it 3-0. Tyson Clementz picked up the assist. For the second time on the night Bidlack converted a Varner pass with 16:29 to make it Pirates 4-0.
Hunter Varner led the Pirates with a pair of goals and assists. Jackson Bidlack scored twice. Tyson Clementz picked up an assist. Reid Tegenkamp picked up the shutout win in goal with 4 saves. The Pirates outshot the Musketeers 13-4. Both teams had 4 corner kicks.
Continental improves to 7-0 (2-0 PCL) and will host Cory Rawson on Tuesday. Fort Jennings falls to 1-3 (0-2 PCL).
