
On Saturday Continental got off to a great start in their Putnam County League game against visiting Leipsic but could not maintain the early momentum. Continental opened up the first quarter by outscoring the Vikings by two, 15-13 Pirates after 1. The Vikings came roaring back in the second with a 13-8 advantage. Vikings 26, Pirates 21 at half. The Vikings expanded their lead in the third by outpointing the Pirates by seven, 39-26. The Vikings took the fourth quarter and the game 49-34.
Continental was led by Maddie Burke with 22 points while Catelyn Etter put in 7. Madelyn Potts scored 4 and Alli Scott 1. Continental won the battle of the boards 37-29 with Burke garnering 9 rebounds. Etter and Burke both made one 3 pointer while the Vikings put in 5.
Continental falls to 4-10 (0-3 PCL) and will host Antwerp on Tuesday. Leipsic improves to 9-5 (3-2 PCL).
