VolleyPirates Pick Up Second Win Over Pioneers
On Saturday Continental High Volleyball team picked up their second win of the season when they hosted Lima Temple Christian in a nonleague match. The Pirates came out strong early and took the first game 25-14. The second game went the Pirates way 25-17. The Pirates made it a sweep but not without a great Pioneer effort 26-24 in game three. Pirates 3, Pioneers 0.
Catelyn Etter led the Pirates with 24 assists, 12 digs and 3 blocks. Madelyn Potts had 20 kills, 7 digs and 2 blocks. Tygre Troyer had 13 kills, 12 digs and 3 blocks.
Continental improves to 2-6 and will travel to Kalida on Tuesday for a Putnam County League game. Lime Temple Christian falls to 5-3.
Pirate Girls Soccer Picks Up Win #3
Shots were a premium on Saturday at Defiance as the Continental High Girls Soccer team picked a 1-0 nonleague victory. It was all about Pirate Defense as the Bulldogs were not allowed a shot. Pirate Trinity Prowant picked up her first goal of the year and that would be only goal scored on the day. Bryn Tegenkamp assisted on the goal.
Trinity Prowant had 1 goal, Bryn Tegenkamp 1 assist. Continental had 7 shots to Defiance 0. Continental improves to 3-2 and travels to Delta on Monday for a non league game. Defiance falls to 1-5.
