VolleyPirates Pick Up Win #1
On Saturday Continental High Volleyball played host to Lima Temple Christian in non-league action. A close first game went the Pirates way 25-23. The second game saw the Pirates take a 25-6 win. The Pirates finished the volleyball night and the sweep 25-16
Jessoca Stauffer led the Pirates with 19 assists, 7 kills and 6 digs. Breanna Eickholt had 8 kills and 2 aces. Madelyn Potts had 13 digs.
Continental is now 1-6 and will go to Putnam County League Rival Kalida on Tuesday. Temple Christian is 1-7.
Bulldogs Take Girls Soccer 3-1
On Saturday Continental High traveled to Defiance to take on the Bulldogs in non-league Girls Soccer action. The Bulldogs took advantage of a trio of set plays to gain the advantage over the Pirates. A free kick, corner kick, and a penalty kick all lead to the three Bulldog goals on the day. The only Pirate able to take advantage of the field turf and find the back of the net was Alex Hoeffel. Bulldogs 3, Pirates 1.
The loss breaks a three game Pirate winning streak. The Pirates are now 4-2 and will host Riverdale on Monday.
