On Friday night Kalida High hosted the Pirates in a Putnam County League game. Two quarters would be troublesome for the Pirates in this night that also served as the Wildcat homecoming. The reserve game served as a precursor to the Varsity as the Pirates had an early lead but had the Wildcats comeback in the second half for a 34-13 JV Wildcat final.

A 3 pointer by Pirate Potts were the first points of the second quarter and was also the last of the quarter as the Wildcats put in the next 13 to take a 19-10 lead at halftime. The Wildcats put in a pair of baskets to start the third before Mitchell Coleman sunk a 3 pointer to make it a 23-13 game. A 7 point Wildcat run was stopped when Potts connected deep for the second time of the night making it 30-16 wildcats. A Wildcat 3 was equaled by the a 3 from Caleb Olds to make it 33-19 Wildcats. The Wildcats would put in the final four points of the quarter. Wildcats 37, Pirates 19 after 3. The fourth quarter was all defense as only 8 points were scored, 6 of those by the Wildcats. Wildcats 43, Pirates 21 final.
Chris Potts led the Pirates with 9 points while Caleb Olds put in 5, Bryce Recker 4, and Mitchell Coleman 3. Potts hit three 3 pointers for the Pirates while Olds and Coleman both hit one.
