On Monday, Continental High Boys Varsity Basketball team traveled to Miller City for a make-up Putnam County League game. The Wildcats nets were not very hospitable for the Pirates as the visitors only shot 33%. The Wildcats had the hot hand in the first quarter as they outpointed the Pirates 21-7. The second was a little closer as the Pirates offense scored more and their defense reduced the Wildcat point total for a 40-18 lead at half. The third quarter had the Wildcats scoring 4 more than the Pirates for a 52-26 lead heading into the fourth. An 8 point advantage by Wildcats in the fourth made it a 69-35 Wildcat final.
Caleb Olds led the Pirates with 10 points, Nick States and Christian Keller both had 6 points. Alex Hale put in 4, Mitchell Coleman and Chris Potts 3 each, Reed Warnement 2, and Jarret Keck 1. Olds made two 3 pointers, Coleman and Potts both made 1. Miller City hit nine 3 pointers in the game.
Continental falls to 0-11 (0-2 PCL) and will host Fort Jennings in League action on Friday. Miller City improves to 7-6 (2-1 PCL).
