One minute and 3 seconds of clock time was used by Kalida’s Boys Soccer team to garner a pair of goals in a close Putnam County League game at Continental on Friday night. Both teams had chances early to hit the back of the net with Pirate shots being just wide of the goal while the Pirates Goalie, Konnor Knipp-Williams, stopped some Wildcats offensive threats to make it 0-0 with less than a minute in half. Kalida would find the back of the net with 33 seconds left in the half to take a 1-0 break into halftime. The Wildcats would strike again just 30 seconds into the second half to make it 2-0. The Pirates would pull within 1 when Wyatt Davis would head in a pass from Westin Okuley to make it 2-1 with 17:21 left in the game. The Pirates would make a number of attempts to tie the game but all were stopped. Wildcats 2, Pirates 1.

The Pirates finish their PCL slate at 2-2 and have an overall record of 5-4-1. Continental hosts Liberty Center on Thursday in a non league game. Kalida improves to 8-3 (3-1 PCL).
