
On Monday Continental played host to Miller City in Putnam County League Softball. The Wildcats opened up the game by scoring 2 in the first which was doubled by the Pirates in the bottom half of the inning for a Pirates 4-2 advantage after 1. The Wildcats continued to score in the second as they plated 3 runs to take a 5-4 lead. The Pirates regained the lead in the bottom of the third as they put 2 on the board to make it 6-5 Pirates. In the bottom of the fourth the Pirates added an additional run to their total to make it Pirates 7, Wildcats 5 after four. The Wildcats tied the Pirates in the top of the fifth only to have the Pirates retake the lead in the bottom half of the 6th. Pirates 9, Wildcats 7 entering the final inning. The Wildcats put 4 on the board in the top of the seventh and held the Pirates scoreless in their half. Miller City 11, Continental 9 final.
Amber Logan took the loss for the Pirates. Riley Fenter was the leading batter for the Pirates as she went 4-4 with a double. Logan went 3-4 with a triple and Keri Prowant went 2-3 with a double. Overall the Pirates had 12 hits.
Continental is now 3-6 (1-2 PCL). The Pirates traveled to Bryan on Tuesday for a non-league game.
