Continental’s 7th grade boys basketball team played well tonight in Putnam County League semi-final game but it wasn’t enough to advance on against Ottawa SPPS. The Pirates started out the scoring with a two point lead at the end of the first quarter of play but a strong 2nd quarter by the Knights put the Pirates down by 5 at the half. Third quarter action had the Pirates outscoring the Knights 8 to 4 to come within one, Pirates 16, Knights 17. With 5:40 to go in the game, the Pirates evened up the score, 17-17. The Knights were able to put more points on the board and finished the game, Pirates 23, Knights 30. Congratulations to Coach Schmidt and the 7th grade boys team, we’re looking forward to next year!
