On Saturday the Continental Junior High Boys Putnam West Soccer team traveled to Fort Jennings to play Ottoville for the league Championship. Playing in a stiff breeze that played havoc with passes and high kicks it was Andrew Hoeffel who pushed one across the goal line as the young Pirates took a 1-0 lead. Warren Okuley provided a second goal for the Pirates in the first half to make it 2-0 Pirates. The second half had the Pirates defending the West goal and playing against the wind. Rhenn Armey put in the third Pirate goal, the only goal of the second half. Pirates 3, Big Green 0.
Congratulations to the Pirate Junior High Boys. Much thanks goes out to the coaches – Coach Huff and Coach Schwarzman for all the time they spent on helping the team accomplish this goal.
