Annual Turkey Supper
Saturday, November 17 @ 4pm
Cost is by donation
Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes & gravy, corn, cole slaw, cranberry salad, dessert.
During the depression years, members of the congregation raised funds for their building fund by hosting a Thanksgiving meal on Saturday night prior to Thanksgiving. This first started out as a chicken dinner. Then turkey started getting more popular so turkey and chicken were both served for a couple of years with each person getting their choice. In the early 1940’s more people started asking for turkey so the next year they called it the “Turkey Supper” and it has been called that ever since. – Ima Prowant, 1988
