
Staff will welcome students back to Continental Local Schools with the first day of classes to be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. Classes will be running from 8:20 a.m. – 3:05 p.m. for grades K-6 with doors opening at 8:05 a.m. Grades 7-12 classes are from 8:15 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. with doors opening at 8:00 a.m.
Parents and students will have the opportunity to meet their teachers and principals, and locate classrooms during Open House on Monday, August 24 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Elementary students are encouraged to bring their school supplies with them to Open House. The elementary and high school offices will be open to accept workbook and lunch payments.
Student workbook fees are: Grades K-6 $60.00
Grade 7 $63.75
Grade 8 $51.25
Grades 9-12 will vary per individual class requirement and will be listed on the class schedule that each student will receive at Open House on August 24. Students in grades 9-12 will have a $50.00 premium for use of the iPads. This premium must be paid by Wednesday, August 26 in order for students to be permitted to take their iPads home.
A breakfast is available to students for $1.50. Students in Grades K-6 may purchase a “Type A” lunch for $2.35; Grades 7-12 will pay $2.85 for a “Type A” lunch. Additional milk can be purchased for .60 cents. When depositing money in your child’s lunch account, please make check payable to Continental School and enclose it in a sealed envelope marked with your child’s name, student ID number, and amount for each child’s account. Information on free and reduced price meals can be obtained from the principal’s office in each building. Parents are advised to write separate checks for workbook fees and lunch account payments.
In addition to the central office, the elementary and high school offices are now open. Any students new to the district are asked to register immediately. Parents with questions concerning class assignments should contact the school offices beginning August 10 between 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. You may subscribe to receive instant messaging on the school website (www.continentalpirates.org). Alerts include school delays, cancellations, early dismissals, athletic cancellations and any school-related emergency information. Information regarding bad weather or bus information will also be announced on the following radio or television stations:
