Bronc Buster 4-H Club 2018 Putnam County Fair Awards

The members of the Bronc Busters 4-H Club had an outstanding fair this year! All members showed improvement with their animals and all worked hard on their respective projects. Below is the list of awards earned by members of the club:

Special Interest Projects:
– MJ Strickler earned an Honorable Mention for his “Getting to Know Your Tractor” project.
– Katie Keller earned a Third Place for her “Making the Cut (woodworking)” project.
– Ian Strickler earned a Second Place for his “Science Fun with Flight” project.
– Dwayne Nienberg earned a Second Place for his “Exploring the Outdoors” project. He also earned a First Place for his “Warm It Up (engine)” project.
– Parker Wildermuth earned a First Place for her “My Favorite Things (collectibles)” project.
– Courtney Weaver earned a First Place for her “Cake Decorating (Sr. Division)” project.

Livestock Projects:
– Taylor Tucker earned a Fourth Place in her class with her Dairy Feeder.
– Gabe Nunez earned a Reserve Champion in First Year Poultry Showmanship.
– Emily Deatrick earned a Second Place with her Californian Doe (rabbit), a First Place with her Californian Buck (rabbit), a First Place with her Jr New Zealand Doe (rabbit), a First Place with her Jr New Zealand Buck (rabbit), a Second Place with her Florida White Doe and Buck (rabbit), and a Fifth Place with her Pen of Fryers (rabbit). Emily also placed Second with her Goat.
– Parker Wildermuth was crowned the Poultry/Rabbit Duchesse for the 2018 Fair. Parker also earned Grand Champion Single comb clean legged with her Serema (chicken), Grand Champion with her Market Ducks, Senior Poultry Skillathon Award, Grand Champion Poultry Sr. Showmanship, and was the Show of Showman Representative for the Poultry Department.

Horse Projects:
– Deserae Sherritts won Senior Horse Skillathon Award.
– MJ Strickler earned Reserve Champion in Jr. Pony English Showmanship. MJ is also the 2018 Putnam County Horse Prince.
– Katie Keller earned Reserve Champion in Sr. Pony English Showmanship.
– Maddie Turnwald earned the Luttfring 1st Year High Point Contester Award Buckle.
– Evan Strickler earned the 1st Year Member High Point Award.
– Gabby Martz was awarded the Determination & Spirit Award buckle.
– Kiana Gable earned a Reserve Champion in Jr. Pony Western Showmanship, the Luttfring Jr. Division High Point Contester Champion, the Equine Sportsmanship Award, and the Renae Patton Contesting Memorial Award.
– Samantha DeMuth earned Grand Champion Jr. Pony Western Showmanship, Grand Champion Jr. Pony English Showmanship, Reserve Champion Jr. Pony English Equitation, and Jr. Pony High Point Award Buckle.
– Christian Keller earned a Reserve Champion in Sr. Horse Western Showmanship, Reserve Champion Sr. Horse Western Horsemanship, Reserve Champion Sr. Division Contester, and Sr. Horse High Point Award Buckle. Christian is also the 2018 Putnam County Horse King.

Katie Keller, Sam DeMuth, Parker Wildermuth, and Christian Keller qualified their horses for the Ohio State Fair.

The following Bronc Busters were also chosen for for the Ohio State Fair with their projects:
Courtney Weaver – “Cake Decorating”
Parker Wildermuth – “My Favorite Things”
Katie Keller – “Club Leadership 2” & “Making The Cut”
Dwayne Nienberg – “Warm It Up”
