Girls District Division IV Preview

Three teams with a combined four losses will be in the mix for the two byes at the OHSAA Archbold Division IV Girls District Tournament Draw. Teams will be slotted for sectional games at Paulding and Bryan. Holgate, is currently ranked tenth in the most recent AP poll leads the group with a 14-2 record while Pettisville is ranked 11th with a 16-1 record. Ayersville is not ranked but sports a 14-1 record. In a field that is decidedly GMC and BBC filled, the Continental Pirates, Montpelier Locomotives, and Patrick Henry Patriots are the only competitors that are not in these two leagues. The District has 4 teams that have won 3 game each Antwerp (3-12), Edgerton (3-13), Continental (3-14), and Edon (3-13). Rounding out the district are Fayette (13-3), Stryker (9-9), Hilltop (6-10), North Central (5-11), Montpelier (5-8) and Hicksville (10-6) and Wayne Trace (10-6).

Tournament draw is Sunday February 8 with sectional games at Paulding and Bryan while District games will be held at Archbold. Sectional games are on Tuesday February 25, Wednesday February 26, and Saturday February 28. Archbold District games are Thursday March 5 and Saturday March 7.

The rest of the Putnam County Leagues Division IV teams go to the Lima Senior District (Columbus Grove is Division III and plays in the Elida District with Ottawa Glandorf). Teams will be slotted for sectional games in Ottawa and Van Wert. In the Lima Sr District we have teams from the PCL, BVC, MAC, and NWOAL. The top two teams in the Van Wert District are State ranked. Leipsic (14-2) being ranked 12th while Crestview (17-0) is ranked 14th. Other teams from the PCL in this district are Kalida (13-5), Ottoville (11-6), Miller City (4-12), Pandora –Gilboa (4-12), and Fort Jennings (1-17). Other teams from the BVC are North Baltimore (9-9), McComb (4-10), and Van Buren (5-12). The remainder of the Van Wert District includes Lincolnview (11-7), Delphos St Johns (8-10), Patrick Henry (5-10), and Delphos Jefferson (4-12)

Tournament draw is Sunday February 8 with sectional games at Ottawa and Van Wert while District games will be held at Lima Sr. Sectional games are on Tuesday February 25, Wednesday February 26, and Saturday February 28. Lima Sr District games are Thursday March 5 and Saturday March 7.
