
Press Release 3/11/2016: Deputy Brent Meyers and Sgt. Mark Brecht were patrolling on State Route 613 east of the Village of Continental and observed a vehicle traveling west on State Route 613 committing a speed offense of 71 mph in a 55 mph posted zone. An attempt was made to stop the vehicle and the vehicle refused to stop, fleeing at a high rate of speed. The pursuit entered the Village of Continental when the vehicle lost control, striking a guide wire to a utility pole. The vehicle slid back into the roadway, nearly striking oncoming vehicles. The vehicle continued fleeing into the Village and turned onto Sixth Street. The vehicle turned into 401 South Sixth Street and the driver bailed from the vehicle and began running. Sgt. Brecht and Deputy Meyer pursued on foot and took the driver into custody without incident. The driver was identified as Juan Felipe Pardo, 21 of Leipsic who was charge with felony failure to comply with order of signal of Police Officer, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia, Felony Tampering with Evidence, Speeding, Failure to Display valid vehicle registration, and failure to maintain reasonable control. More charges are possible.
